Dr Paresh J Shah, BDS – Co-Principal Dentist

Paresh is a friendly, caring, and enthusiastic dentist who is passionate about providing the highest standard of patient care in a comforting, relaxed way.

He graduated from Dundee University in 1979, completed Orthodontic training at University College Hospital in 1990, and trained in Dental Implants at Eastman Dental Hospital in 2001.

Paresh has worked in general practice since 1979 and became Principal Dentist at Brecknock Dental in 1983. Before he took over the practice, it was a single-handed surgery with part-time opening hours; however, over the last 30 years, Paresh has developed it into a full-time six-surgery practice.

Paresh enjoys all aspects of dentistry, including the restorative, cosmetic, surgical and orthodontic disciplines, and, in particular, complex dental cases involving implants. He regularly attends courses to deepen his knowledge and refresh his skills. He is also qualified in facial aesthetics.

When not practising dentistry, Paresh lives an active lifestyle and enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and travelling.

Dr Neil Maroo, BDS – Co-Principal Dentist

Neil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 and has since built a reputation for his gentle approach, attention to detail, and knowledge in advanced dentistry. He has a special interest in dental implants, oral surgery, and aesthetic dentistry and is highly skilled in complex restorative treatments, such as full-mouth rehabilitation. He also offers facial aesthetic treatments to help patients achieve natural, balanced results that enhance their overall appearance.

Neil is passionate about keeping his skills at the cutting edge of dentistry. He’s constantly attending advanced courses around the world – most recently with the Bicon Dental Implant Institute in Boston, USA, and Cartagena, Colombia. When it comes to implants, Neil offers everything from straightforward placements to complex “teeth in a day” solutions, including All-on-4/6. He uses the latest digital technology and collaborates with some of the top dental laboratory technicians to ensure a perfect fit and finish.

For aesthetic and restorative work, Neil has completed the highly regarded Aspire Dental Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Course. He’s also skilled in all complex extractions, including wisdom teeth and heavily broken-down teeth, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care under one roof.

What patients love most about Neil is his ability to explain even the most complex treatments in a clear, reassuring way – and his knack for making appointments feel relaxed and comfortable. Whether it’s restoring function, transforming a smile, or carrying out delicate surgical work, Neil’s focus is always on achieving the best possible outcome for each individual.

Outside the surgery, Neil enjoys travelling, fitness and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Elaine Di Bernardi, BDS MSc – Associate Dentist

Elaine qualified as a dentist in 2000 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Southern Brazil. She had her own dental surgery in Florianopolis (a city known as ‘magic island’) where she worked in community dentistry; focusing on prevention and restorative dentistry.

She is passionate about her work and regularly attends courses in dentistry, aiming to provide a high standard of dental treatment for all her patients. She is particularly interested in cosmetic, restorative and aesthetic dentistry; combining her knowledge in Evidence-Based Dentistry.

Elaine has numerous qualifications, including a Master of Science in Dental Public Health – UCL 2013 (London), Forensic Human Identification Certificate – AFMS 2011 (London), Advanced Composite Restorations for Anterior Teeth – UFSC 2008, Diploma in Family/Public Health – UFSC 2005, Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry and Dentistry for Babies – ABO 2001 (Brazil). She is also qualified to administer Botulinum toxins and dermal fillers for cosmetic treatments.

Well-known for her friendly approach, Elaine likes to make her patients feel comfortable and cared for. She believes that a healthy, beautiful smile can bring happiness and restore confidence.

Elaine speaks English and Portuguese and understands Spanish. She loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys travelling the world.

Dr Nabil Al-Bayaa, BDS MJDF RCS (Eng.), MSc in Prosthetic Dentistry (Lond) – Associate Dentist

Nabil received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2003, earning several awards and achievements. Following his graduation, he worked for one year as a senior resident dentist, during which time he developed his organisational and leadership skills. Spending six more years in general practice has reinforced his interpersonal and patient management skills, for which he is well recognised.

To further his skills and expertise, he completed his post-graduate training at Guy’s Hospital and gained a Master’s Degree in Prosthetic Dentistry from King’s College London in 2006. He then worked as a part-time clinical teacher at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London, from 2007 to 2008 to further develop his skills in that area.

Nabil always ensures his knowledge is up-to-date to provide a better service for his patients, and while working in general practice, he obtained a Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2010.

Nabil strongly believes in staying up to date with the latest dental techniques by diligently reading professional journals and publications. He devotes significant time each year to completing dental education courses and is a certified provider of Six Month Smiles and Inman Aligner, braces that produce quick results.

Dr Vanesca Costa, BDS Brazil (2001), MSc Endodontics Portugal (2006) – Associate Dentist

Dr Costa is a dedicated and patient-focused General Dentist with over two decades of experience since 2001. Holding active registrations in both Portugal and Brazil, she brings a globally recognised skill set to the Kentish Town community in London.

Committed to delivering comprehensive dental care, Dr Costa has pursued advanced training in Periodontal Diseases, Endodontics, and Restorative Dentistry. Her focused knowledge in these areas allows her to offer integrated solutions, ensuring optimal oral health and personalised treatment plans for her patients.

Dr Aysha is a dedicated, skilled dentist passionate about providing exceptional care to her patients.

With a special interest in providing Invisalign® Go/Go+ treatment, she enjoys helping patients achieve straight, beautiful smiles without traditional braces. Additionally, Dr Aysha has a soft spot for children and loves to see them in the practice for routine check-ups and dental treatments.

Dr Leonor Chen undertook her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Melbourne. During her time in Australia, she worked in the East Gippsland region, providing dental care to remote rural areas and in the Aboriginal Dental Program.

Leonor gained her Diploma in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of the UK and has provided over 5,000 new smiles over 17 years working in specialist orthodontic practices.

She has found a new passion in providing facial aesthetic treatments and is furthering her knowledge in this field by undertaking a Master’s Course in Facial Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine from Manchester University.

Leonor is dedicated to making sure all her patients are happy and comfortable during their appointments.

Dr Megan Lewis – Associate Dentist

Dr Megan is originally from Cambridge and qualified from Cardiff University. She started at Brecknock during Dental Foundation training with the London deanery and has stayed on as a general dentist since.

She has a keen interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry and is undergoing further training and education in this area. She is currently taking part in an Advanced Operative Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry course with Aspire Dental Academy. She is also undertaking further training in removable clear aligner treatment.

Dr Megan takes pride in providing a positive experience for her patients with her gentle nature. She is committed to delivering the highest-quality care, helping patients attain a functional, naturally aesthetic smile.

Outside of dentistry, Megan is interested in health and fitness, with regular runs and home cooking. When she has the time, she also likes to paint and draw.

Dr Caitlin Jones, BDS Cardiff University (2021) – Associate Dentist

Dr Caitlin graduated with honours from Cardiff University in 2021, completing her foundation training in Cardiff, where she continued to work for the next 2 years.

Caitlin joined Brecknock Dental in January 2024, where she provided a mix of both NHS and private care. Caitlin enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a keen interest in developing her skills further in restorative dentistry and orthodontics. Caitlin is about to embark on a one-year course in Advanced Operative Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry at Aspire Dental Academy.

She has achieved qualifications in removable orthodontics, with certificates from Invisalign®, C-Fast, and 32Co. She is also qualified to deliver facial aesthetics after training with SkinViva.

Caitlin prides herself on her ability to put anxious patients at ease, listen to concerns, and provide a holistic approach while delivering functional and aesthetic results.

In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys staying active, socialising and travelling the world with friends and family.

Dr Adam Kingsley, BDS, University of Bristol (2023) – Associate Dentist

Dr Adam graduated from the University of Bristol and has a keen interest in restorative dentistry, particularly in constructing dentures, creating seamless invisible restorations, and enhancing smiles with aesthetic treatments. His approach to dentistry is centred around keeping patients confident, comfortable, and as pain-free as possible throughout their treatment.

Dr Adam is currently expanding his expertise by undertaking a diploma in aesthetic and restorative dentistry, alongside numerous additional training courses, ensuring he stays up to date with the latest advancements in the field. He particularly enjoys working on posterior onlay restorations and takes pride in achieving high-quality, long-lasting results.

Outside of dentistry, Adam enjoys cooking, going to the gym, running, and exploring London’s diverse restaurant scene.

Dr Alice Donlon, BDS Cardiff University (2021) – Associate Dentist

Alice graduated with a BDS from Cardiff University in 2021 and has since gained experience in both general practice and hospital settings. She is passionate about helping people restore their oral health and feel proud of their smiles, with a strong focus on building confidence and developing sustainable, healthy routines.

She has a particular interest in oral surgery, having completed a Dental Core Training year at University College London and the Eastman Dental Hospital. She is also currently working towards a qualification in advanced restorative dentistry to ensure she can offer a wide range of high-quality treatments for her patients.

In addition, Dr Alice greatly enjoys supporting individuals who experience dental anxiety, working with them at their own pace to help them achieve their treatment goals with comfort and ease.

Dr Kyriakos graduated with Merit from the University of Bristol and completed his Foundation Training within the London Deanery, gaining experience across a wide range of primary care settings.

Kyriakos aims to provide advanced dental treatments with remarkable accuracy and meticulous care. With a passion for minimally invasive and aesthetic dentistry, Kyriakos is currently pursuing a two-year Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in “Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics” at the renowned Aspire Dental Academy, London.

Kyriakos focuses on creating an approachable, stress-free environment where patients feel at ease. He prioritises clear, effective communication, takes time to develop tailored treatment plans, and is committed to delivering gentle, pain-free dentistry.
Kyriakos is fluent in both English and Greek.

Dr Anna MacLaurin graduated from the University of Bristol in 2021 and is a dedicated, compassionate dentist committed to providing exceptional care in a friendly and supportive environment. She takes great pride in helping anxious patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visits, working hard to make every experience as stress-free as possible.

Currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Advanced Restorative Dentistry, Dr MacLaurin continually expands her knowledge and skills to offer the latest and most effective treatments. She has a particular interest in restorative dentistry, focusing on helping patients restore both the function and aesthetics of their smiles.

Outside of dentistry, Anna enjoys staying active with running, Pilates, and playing netball. She also has a passion for cooking and loves exploring new cuisines, especially when travelling to different parts of the world.

Jo graduated as a Dental Therapist from Barts & the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2019, where she received a clinical award for outstanding communication skills.

After graduation, Jo completed one year of Dental Foundation Training with Health Education England, during which she undertook additional training in Dental Therapy within NHS services.

Jo has worked in dentistry for 24 years. She has undertaken most roles within dental services and has a deep understanding of patient care. Since graduation, Jo has worked in a hospital setting as a dental therapist in the consultant-led paediatric department at The Royal London Hospital, undertaking a wide range of dental treatments for children with complex medical and dental needs.

She has also worked with Health Education England, treating children in a primary care setting. She has worked in both general NHS practices and specialist private practices, working alongside specialist dentists in the treatment and management of gum disease.
Jo has a relaxed and friendly approach to patient care. She’s passionate about providing a positive experience for all her patients, providing a very high standard of treatment, and giving patients the skills they need to manage their oral health needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys Irish dancing, being active, and going on long walks with her miniature schnauzer.
